Program Description

Effective e-Learning via Successful Instructional and Interface Design is a discussion centered around the best practices of learning theory and instructional design as it applies to e-Learning and Blended Learning Solutions. Focused on the Allen Interactions CCAF instructional building blocks (Context, Challenge, Activity and Feedback), this presentation will guide users through the process of creating e-Learning that:

• Connects with students on a personal level
• Empowers students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to perform on the job
• Provides students with the ability to Orchestrate solutions and build problem solving experiences

The presentation will include demonstrations of effective e-Learning solutions that focus on learning focused interface designs. Traditional User Interface Design (UID) in e-Learning is centered around an intuitive and graphically appealing navigational structure and screen layout. Learner Interface Design (LID) goes beyond traditional UID by ensuring the user perceptions and interactions with the learning environment is directed towards reproducing the specific behaviors, thought processes, challenges, risks and rewards that will be encountered in real world situations.
